There are two scholarship programs run by the Amador Valley High School PTSA awarded to seniors graduating from Amador Valley High School.
- The Merit Scholarship is intended to recognize well-rounded students who intend to continue their education at a four-year college, community college, or vocational school.
- The Community Service Scholarship is intended to recognize students who plan to continue their education at a four-year college, community college, or vocational school, who have had significant experience and given support in community service.
To be eligible for the AVHS PTSA scholarships, you must have been a member of the PTSA during your junior and senior years.
To verify that you were a PTSA member during your junior year (2016-2017), check this file: 2016-2017 Membership List and search for your last name. If you believe you were a member last year, but your name does not appear in the file, check with the PTSA VP of Membership at email@example.com to see if she can verify your membership some other way. (If you did not attend Amador Valley High School during your junior year, you only need to be a member of the PTSA for 2017-2018.)
To verify that you are a PTSA member for your senior year (2017-2018), check this file: 2017-2018 Membership List (as of 2/4/18) and search for your last name. If your name is not on the list, and you were a member during your junior year (2016-2017), you can still become eligible for the senior scholarships by joining the PTSA this year for $10.75 at this link: https://amador.futurefund.com/store/campaigns/4068
Typically the scholarships awarded are worth $500 each. Scholarship winners are announced at the Senior Awards Night. All applications are due by 3:00 pm PDT on Monday, March 19, 2018.
